Approaching Dumfries from the east (from Gretna, A75):

  • When reaching the Dumfries bypass (roundabout at the Little Chef) follow the A75 for Stranraer.
  • Continue on the A75 for Stranraer at the next roundabout.
  • At the roundabout with the A701 to Dumfries take the first junction, signposted A701 Dumfries.
  • Travel for about 800 yards to the mini roundabout and take the second exit, signposted Dumfries.
  • The entrance to Dumfries and County Golf club is 100 yards on the right.

Approaching Dumfries from the east (from Lockerbie, A709):

  • When reaching the Dumfries bypass (roundabout) follow the A75 for Stranraer.
  • At the next roundabout with the A701 to Dumfries take the first junction, signposted A701 Dumfries.
  • Travel for about 800 yards to the mini roundabout and take the second exit, heading for Dumfries.

  • When reaching the Dumfries bypass (roundabout, A75) cross the roundabout taking the second exit, signposted A701 Dumfries.
  • Travel for about 800 yards to the mini roundabout and take the second exit, signposted Dumfries.
  • The entrance to Dumfries and County Golf club is 100 yards on the right.

Approaching Dumfries from the north (from Kilmarnock, A76):

  • When reaching the Dumfries bypass (roundabout) follow the A75 for Gretna/Carlisle.
  • At the next roundabout with the A701 to Dumfries take the third exit, signposted A701 Dumfries.
  • Travel for about 800 yards to the mini roundabout and take the second exit, heading for Dumfries.
  • The entrance to Dumfries and County Golf club is 100 yards on the right.

Approaching Dumfries from the west (from Stranraer, A75):

  • When reaching the Dumfries bypass (roundabout) take the first exit, signposted A75 Gretna/Stranraer.
  • Cross the next roundabout (intersection with A76) and continue heading for Gretna/Stranraer.
  • At the next roundabout with the A701 to Dumfries take the third exit, signposted A701 Dumfries.
